Frequently asked questions
Will it get names and technical terms right?
Mostly, but not perfectly — like any transcription tool, unusual names, jargon, and acronyms are the words most likely to come back wrong, since the model is guessing at words it's never seen before. Plan to spend a minute proofreading names before you quote from the transcript.
What interview recording formats does it accept?
Both audio and video — MP4, WEBM, MOV, MKV, AVI, and 3GP for video, or MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, and FLAC for audio. Phone recordings, Zoom calls, and dedicated voice recorders all work directly.
My interview is longer than 20 minutes — what do I do?
Trim it down to the segment you need with Audio Trimmer or Video Trimmer (both lossless, so quality won't suffer), then transcribe the shorter clip.
Is it free?
Yes. It's free with no account required, limited to a fair-use number of transcriptions per hour.
Is my recording stored anywhere?
No. It's processed in memory during transcription and discarded immediately after — never written to disk or a database.
