Who it's for
- Podcast episodes — Get a rough transcript of an MP3 episode for show notes.
- Voice memos — Many recorder apps and older phones export MP3 by default.
- Shared recordings — A call or webinar recording someone sent you as an MP3.

A short MP3 voicemail
Input
“hey it's me, running about ten minutes late, see you soon”
Output
Hey, it's me — running about ten minutes late, see you soon.
Frequently asked questions
Does the MP3's bitrate affect accuracy?
Only at the low end. Anything encoded at 96kbps or higher transcribes about as well as an uncompressed file. Very low-bitrate MP3s (32–64kbps, common on old voicemail exports) can lose enough high-frequency detail to hurt accuracy on quieter speech.
Does this only work with MP3 files?
No — it also accepts WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, WEBM, and FLAC. This page is tuned for MP3 specifically since it's the most common format for voice recordings and podcasts.
Is it free?
Yes. It's free with no account required, limited to a fair-use number of transcriptions per hour to keep it available for everyone.
What's the file size and length limit?
Up to 200MB and 90 minutes per file on the free tier.
Is my file stored on your servers?
No. It's processed in memory during transcription and discarded immediately after — never written to disk or a database.
