Frequently asked questions
Why do iPhone and Mac recordings come as MOV?
MOV (QuickTime) is Apple's default video container — the Camera app on iPhone and iPad, and Mac's built-in screen recording (Cmd+Shift+5), both save as MOV automatically. It's normal, not a special export you need to change.
Does it work if my MOV has no audio track?
No — it needs an audio track to transcribe. You'll get a clear error if the file has none.
Does this only work with MOV files?
No — it also accepts MP4, WEBM, MKV, AVI, and 3GP. This page is tuned for MOV specifically since it's the default format for iPhone and Mac recordings.
Is it free?
