Why use it

Handles .opus without conversion

WhatsApp's voice codec breaks most players and transcription tools. Upload the file exactly as WhatsApp saved it.

Read a long message in seconds

A four-minute voice note takes four minutes to hear and about twenty seconds to read.

Works in 100 languages

Detected automatically, including the mixed-language speech voice notes are full of.

Nothing is kept afterward

The file is processed in memory and discarded the moment the transcript comes back.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the voice note out of WhatsApp?

Long-press the voice message, tap Forward or Share, then choose Files, Drive, or your email app to save it somewhere you can reach from a browser. On Android it usually saves as an .opus file; on iPhone you may get .m4a. Both work here.

What is a .opus file and why can't I open it?

Opus is the audio codec WhatsApp uses for voice notes — it's efficient, which is why voice messages are so small. Most media players and transcription tools don't recognise the extension, which is why the file looks broken elsewhere. You do not need to convert it before uploading here.

Can I transcribe a voice note someone sent me?

Technically yes, and the tool doesn't know the difference. Whether you should is a separate question — recording, storing, or transcribing someone else's message may need their knowledge or consent depending on where you live. That's your call to make, not ours.

Does it handle voice notes in other languages?

Yes — 100 languages, detected automatically. You don't need to tell it which language the message is in, and it handles the mixed-language speech that's common in voice notes better than dictation-style tools do.

What's the file size and length limit?

Up to 200MB and 90 minutes per file on the free tier — far longer than any voice note is likely to be.

Is the voice note stored on your servers?

No. It's processed in memory during transcription and discarded immediately after — never written to disk or a database.
